The Nepal Electricity Authority, Ministry of Energy, Government of Nepal has received financing from the World Bank toward thecost of the Kali Gandaki A Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP), andintends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services ("the Services") include preparation of detailed design, specifications, costestimates, bill of quantities, bidding documents and assist in the procurement process and capacity building of NEA and supervisionof construction and installation works of Kali Gandaki 'A' Hydropower Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP) consisting of Dam Safety, Civil, Electro-Mechanical Works, Automation & Control and Capacity Building as the major components. The consultancy is expected to last for three years. The Terms of Reference(TOR) along with the sample EOI can be downloaded at www.nea.org.np
The Nepal Electricity Authority, now invites eligibleconsulting firms ("Consultants") to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provideinformation demonstrating that they have therequired qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. Theshort listingcriteriaare: eligibility requirement, management competence, technical qualifications and geographical experiences.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of theWorld Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World BankBorrowers, January 2011 ("Consultant Guidelines"), setting forth the World Bank'spolicy on conflict of interest.
Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint ventureor a sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality-andCost-Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
