Global Bank Group Launches Fund to Catalyze High-Impact Climate Change Initiatives

Los Angeles, CA – November 25, 2018 – Today, in advance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24) to be held from 2 to 14 December 2018 in Katowice, Poland, the Global Bank Group announces the launch of the Global Bank Disaster Risk Reduction and Reconstruction Fund – An Umbrella Trust Fund (the GB-DRRRF). Its purpose is mainstreaming climate change into development to help achieve the Sendai Framework targets by 2030 - a decade-long plan to help make the world safer from disasters caused by natural hazards — and to support the implementation of the Global Climate Agreement in Paris, and prevent disasters undermining progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Bank — Global Bank is taking centre stage. The California-based entity is “in the final stages of [formal] announcement”, its president and chairman Ron Nechemia told GlobalMarkets in a pre-launch interview in Yokohama, venue of this year’s ADB annual meeting.

December 5th, 2013 -- With the death of Nelson Mandela, the world has lost "a visionary leader, a giant for justice who raised the standard of humanity the world over," according to Ron Nechemia, Chairman of the EurOrient Financial Group. Mr Roger A Burston, a British national, with highly effective managerial skills and substantial Human Resources and Compensation management experience within the private sector and three international financial organizations namely the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and in the financial private sector was appointed by Global Bank President, Mr. Ron Nechemia, as Human Resources Advisor to the Chairman and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Global Bank Group where he will be working closely with the President on building the leadership of the Bank.
